Accessibility
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing effort here, not a box that gets ticked once.
The standard we aim for
This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Those are the internationally recognised guidelines for making web content easier to use for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities.
We aim for that standard. We do not claim the site is perfect against it, because no honest site can claim that without a formal audit.
What we do
- Semantic HTML, keyboard support, visible focus indicators and a skip link.
- Colour contrast targeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA in both light and dark themes.
- Respect for the reduced-motion setting, for people sensitive to animation.
- Text that resizes without breaking the layout.
- Any barrier reported to us treated as a priority to fix.
