The tour worth booking
The best tour we did in Florence was the pizza and gelato cooking class from Florencetown. There are other cooking classes, but this one is nice because you walk to the location. Some tours have you take a 30 minute drive first.

Day trip: Pisa
Pisa is about an hour out of the city by train. You really do not need much time there, two hours at most. If you go, book tickets in advance to climb to the top of the tower.
